Penny Young of Modesto, California

Former Bremerton resident Penny Lynn Young, 48, of Modesto, Calif., died following a lengthy illness Feb. 17, 2001, at her home.  She was born Feb. 13, 1953, in Winslow to Elza and Bernice Long.  She graduated in 1971 from West High School in Bremerton and attended Olympic College.   She married Larry Young on July 21, 1973.  Mrs. Young was a bookkeeper for 12 years.  She enjoyed her family and working with crafts.
    Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Christy Werner and Nancy Young of Modesto; three sisters, Wanda Daman of Bainbridge Island, Maurine Brown of Silverdale and Barbara May of Hansville; and one grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Modena Miller.
