James Lynn Olson passed away Tuesday evening March 12 of mesothelioma, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Long Beach, Calif. on Aug. 5, 1952. He grew up in Bremerton and graduated from West High School in 1971. He served in the Navy and worked at PSNS for 33 years in Shop 71.
Jim was a kind-hearted husband, father and grandfather, who was so very much cherished. He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie; his sons, Brian and Jon; daughter, Sharleen; and grandson, Christopher, all from Bremerton. He is also survived by his brothers, Wayne (Karen) Olson of Bremerton and Charles (Jane) Olson of Belfair; sisters, Gale (Terry) Schulz of Portland, Ore., Arlene Osborne of Bremerton, Teresa (Ken) Wilkinson of Port Orchard, Debbie (Don) Burmeister of South Dakota, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Oscar and Marion Olson; his sister, Donna Rausch; and brother, Ted Olson.
He will be sorely missed by his dogs, Ginger and Oden, whom he spent a great deal of time with. He was a dedicated Seahawks fan,and loved to fish and golf.
