Edward James Kerson, 35, of Richmond, Calif., died Jan. 7 at his home.

He was born Feb. 9, 1959, in San Diego, Calif. He graduated from West High School in 1977 and then cosmetology college in San Francisco, Calif.

He owned his own beauty shop, Hair Experience, in El Cerrito, Calif.

Survivors include his parents, James and Rose Kerson of Bremerton; three brothers, Alejandro of Belfair, Mark of Port Orchard and Ruben of Bremerton; and two sisters, Lisa Kerson and Valerie Weisgerber, both of Bremerton.

Services were held in Richmond, Calif.
