BREWER and OTIS – Steven Thomas Andrews, 64, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born July 13, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Robert and Marion (Thomas) Andrews.

Steve grew up in Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School and attended the University of Maine. He served his country in the Air National Guard 101st Air Wing. He worked for many years as a lineman for New England Telephone Company. Steve had a tireless work ethic and after his retirement from the phone company he owned and operated Downeast Mobile Powerwash. Even though he loved his work, Steve’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his family at his camp on Beech Hill Pond. He was an accomplished water-skier, and enjoyed boating, windsurfing, and all other water activities. Steve had a kind and generous heart, a fun loving spirit, an enthusiasm for adventure and an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and co-workers. He was a giving person who always put the needs of others before his own and he mentored not by words only, but with patience and love. At the center of Steve’s life was his beloved family. He was a loving and devoted husband, a caring and supportive father, a compassionate and kind brother, as well as an affectionate and helpful son. He shined with affection in the presence of his precious grandchildren who called him PaPa, and beamed with pride around his daughter Kim and exuded kindness and generosity to everyone he met.

He is survived by his mother, Marion Andrews; his wife, Nancy (Price) Andrews; a daughter, Kimberley Lucy and her husband, Jim; and three grandchildren, Grace, Jenna, and Ben. He also leaves behind his twin sister, Kathy Hamel and her husband, Brian. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Andrews.
