WINTERPORT and BURNHAM - Mark Edward Foley, 67, husband of Betty Webster Foley, passed away due to complications of lymphoma Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, surrounded by his family. Mark was born Jan. 9, 1950, and was adopted at a young age by his parents, Malcolm E. and Sophia (Sullivan) Foley, both of Winterport.

He attended John Bapst Memorial High School and then graduated from Brewer High School in 1967. He was employed by the Bangor Daily News, EMMC as a transporter and later worked in the physical therapy dept. He remained in the medical field working with Black Bear Medical. After the loss of his mother in 1982, Mark attended and graduated magna cum laude from New England Institute, Boston, in 1987 and worked with his father, Malcolm, at Foley Funeral Home, Winterport, as a license funeral director until later retiring. Mark really enjoyed his music and played in several bands in the Bangor area for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two children, Jonathan E. Foley and fiancee, Amanda Wallace, and Julianne M. Foley; five grandchildren, Devon R. Foley, Braeden D. Foley, Madisyn R. Foley, Jonathan E. Foley Jr. and Zane McCarthy; nieces, nephew and many special friends and extended family, including Twiki C. Coates and so many more. Mark was predeceased by his parents; and by a brother, David Foley.

A burial is being planned for later in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. In lieu of cards and flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his family for support purposes at 69 Back Winterport Rd., Winterport, ME 04496.
