RIO RANCHO, N.M. - Thomas A. Hanscom, 62, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 28, 2012. He was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Gilbert F. and Vicenta (Orsini) Hanscom, both of Brewer. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, Gail (McInnis) Hanscom of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and their two beloved dogs, Pancho and Cisco. Tom is also survived by one sister, Barbara Mitchell and her husband, Robert, of Scarborough; two brothers, Edward Hanscom and his wife, Valerie, of Gardiner and Roger Hanscom of Brewer; one niece, Rebecca Mitchell of Scarborough; and three nephews, Alexander, Kenneth and Gregory Hanscom of Gardiner. Tom was a graduate of Brewer High School, class of 1967, and the University of Maine, Orono, class of 1972. His funeral Mass was held Feb. 2 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Rio Rancho, N.M. A veteran of the
U.S. Air Forceand a longtime resident of New Mexico, his burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, N.M.
