GARNER, N.C. - Mr. Marc Calvi, 52, died Aug. 9, 2008. A native of Bangor, Marc was born Sept. 30, 1955, to the Donald George and Barbara Evelyn Smith Calvi. Marc was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed music, playing bass guitar in the band, Pfiesteria and spending time outdoors. Marc graduated from Brewer High School, Brewer, and Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute, Bangor, with a degree in electronics. He also enjoyed his job with the Environmental Protection Agency a great deal. Marc is survived by his wife, Diane Calvi of Raleigh, N.C.; children, Margo Calvi, James Calvi, Michael Calvi, Michele Janek, Jennifer Defeo, Christopher Janek, Daniel Janek, Dennis Janek and Richard Janek; grandchildren, Caleb Calvi, Piper Janek, Tyler Janek, Ricky Royal, Sara Defeo and David Defeo; his mother, Barbara Evelyn Calvi of Orrington; siblings, Debbie Calvi Gaudet and husband, Steven, of Bucksport and Donn Calvi and wife, Marie, of Rochester, N.H.; and two nephews, Benjamin Kelleher of Bucksport and Matthew Sibley of Orrington. He was predeceased by his father, Donald George Calvi; and a sister, April Calvi. The family will receive friends 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 South Wilmington St., Raleigh, N.C. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
