Orrington - Robert L. Garside, 64, died from a brief illness on November 14, 2019. He was born March 20, 1955 in Saco, ME to parents Ida Mae and Warren Garside.
He married his loving wife and soul mate Cynthia (Kelly) Garside on June 7, 1975 and they continued their love story for the ages for 44 years. Together with his wife he owned and operated Garside Insulation Inc. for 40 years, completing work all over the state of Maine. He was a treasure of a man, full to the brim with so much talent: a master carpenter, a woodworker, a mechanic, a landscaper, a gardener, a hunter, a fisherman, an artist, a teacher, and an amazing storyteller. He had the ability to make anyone laugh and brought so much joy to even the mundane things of each day. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to many, having so much love for the special people in his life.
Robert is survived by his best friend and loving wife Cindy; his son Joshua Garside and daughter Lauren Garside; his brother John Garside; and his mother Ida Mae Garside.
He was predeceased by his father Warren Garside.
Friends may visit with the family from 11 AM - 1 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer. A graveside service will take place immediately following the visitation at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington. Our country, those that fought for it, and those who continue to fight for it meant a lot to Bob.
