Brewer - Leon L. Grant, 66, passed away on February 13, 2022, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born October 8, 1955, in Harrington, ME, the son of Elwood Grant and Vera Dorr-Grant-Pelkey.
Leon was a member of Brewer High School's graduating class of 1973. He was good with his hands and worked a number of mechanical jobs, but spent most of his career with R.H. Foster in Hampden, as a propane technician. He is best remembered for his strength, love for, and protection of his family. He married the love of his life, Valerie Grant, in 1975, and together they raised three daughters, Tangie, Christy, and Angela. He was most happy spending time hunting and fishing with his brothers, playing guitar, working with wood, and tending to his garden. He had a clever mind, sharp wit, and there wasn't anything that he could not fix or grow.
Leon is survived by his wife, Valerie Grant; daughters, Tangie Haney and husband, Rodney, Christy Clark and husband, Ken, and Angela Grant and significant other, Steve Taylor; grandchildren, Levi, Christopher, Emily, Jacob, Gaige, Keegan, and Connor; stepfather, Donald Pelkey Sr.; brothers, Brian Grant and significant other, Florence Smith, Gary Grant and wife, Joanne, Donald Pelkey Jr. and wife, Sharon, and Danny Pelkey and wife, Laurie; many nieces and nephews; and his best dog friend, Scooter. He was predeceased by his parents, Elwood Grant and Vera Pelkey; and brother, Mark Grant.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Jeff's Catering, 15 Event Center Way. A reception will immediately follow the service.
