Larry Kearns

BREWER, MAINE - Larry James Kearns, 56, passed away unexpectedly Dec. 1, 2010, at a Boston hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1954, in Portsmouth, Va., the son of Robert F. and Florence (Goodreau) Kearns Jr. Larry lived most of his life in Brewer, attended Brewer schools and was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1973. He was a member of Bangor Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he was active in church activities. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. Larry touched many lives through his kindness and generosity, and would help out anyone in need. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted son, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Florence of Brewer; daughters, Sarah M. Crowley-Kearns of Bangor and Naomi Smith of Brewer; brothers, Robert "Bob" Kearns and wife, Doreen, of Bangor, Ronald "Ron" Kearns and wife, Sandy, of Brewer and Terrance "Terry" Kearns and wife, Karen, of Brewer; two grandchildren, Halie and Tyler Smith; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The Kearns family thanks Mark Strickland for all he has done for Larry and their family. A service of remembrance and gratitude for the life of Larry will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at Bangor Seventh-day Adventist Church, Hermon, with Pastor Arnold Schnell officiating.
