Jeremy Moyers Waggy, 12, of Route 1, Dayton, died May 1, 1991, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, where he had been a patient for the past three days. He had been ill since December 1990. He was born in Harrisonburg and was a son of Jerald L. and Mary M. Waggy. He was an active member of The Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and an honor student at Wilbur S. Pence Middle School, where he was in the seventh grade.
Jeremy was a member of the Bridgewater Little League and was on the all-star team for the past two years. He also played in the Rockingham County Youth Football League and this year was manager of the Pence eighth graders' basketball team.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Jay Waggy of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a sister, Susan W. Ashenfelter of Staunton; a grandmother, Catherine Moyers of Franklin, W.Va.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Waggy of Staunton.
Pastor Arnold Holgersen will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at Muhlenberg Lutheran Church in Harrisonburg. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Bridgewater. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Bridgewater.
