Obituary

Rodney Neil Lauritzen passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2021. He was born on January 18, 1956 in Camden, New Jersey, to Neil and Ivy Olsen Lauritzen. He married the love of his life, Jan Peterson.

He was raised in Brigham City where he attended school and graduated from Box Elder High School. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged.

Rodney was a faithful Christian and was a member of the Main Street Bible Church.

He was a drummer in his younger days and was known as “Rockin’ Rodney.” Being a fly fisherman was his passion. He was a very active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, where he met his lovely wife Jan. He volunteered much of his time with the AA and was proud to be going on 26 years of continuous sobriety. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and also enjoyed serving others.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan Peterson Lauritzen; sister, Ann Galbraith; step-children, Brooke (Todd) Verrill, Brittany Dymond and Elisha Dawn Carroll; ten step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Street Church, 48 North Main Street, Brigham City, UT.
