
David Joseph Lamere was born June 10, 1955, in Athol, Massachusetts. He passed away May 1, 2018, at home in Roy, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, Klara and Garland Clarence Lamere. David attended Box Elder High School, where he met Suzanne Leda Valasquez. After marrying in 1974, they had four children: Nichole Lamere, Celeste Pena (Shawn), Heather Garcia (Erasmo), and Trenton Lamere (Stewart). They later divorced. David started work for Thiokol as a machinist but always had a desire to obtain a college degree. In 2001, he left work as a machinist to attend Weber State University. He obtained a Bachelor's in Social Work and Gerontology in 2005. He was later admitted to the Advanced Standing Program at the University of Utah, where he obtained his Master's in Social Work. David spent the last 10 years of his life as a licensed clinical social worker and clinical manager for Life Matters Counseling Center. He enjoyed working with individuals, families, and groups, and engaging them in therapeutic treatment. David met the love of his life, Steven Chris Vigil, on October 24, 1995. They were able to spend the last 23 years together, during which time they enjoyed remodeling their home, golfing, playing cards, traveling, and hosting weekend barbecues with family and friends. They were officially married on December 23, 2013, as a result of marriage equality. The family would like to receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Funeral services will be at Myers Mortuary on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at the Brigham City Cemetery.
