Erica was a very special person. She was sweet, funny, intelligent, athletic and nice to everyone around her. Erica was close to her Mom, Dad and Brother, Jim. I was fortunate to have gone to St. Matthews School for 8 years with Erica before starting at St. Paul High School. During our school years we became close friends. She was always there for me when I needed her. I was devastated when she died the summer after our freshman year. When I think back to high school it reminds me of how young she was when she died. Erica never had time to get her driver's license, graduate from high school (and college), get married and start a family. God took her so soon. I know that she is an angel in heaven. My daughter is named after her and I believe in my heart that she is watching over both of my children. I am sure she is watching over us all.
