Obituary for Paula Freeman

Services honoring the life of Paula Faye Freeman will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel. 

Paula was born on Monday, August 2, 1948 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Paul D. and Ora Faye (Lundy) Beckham. Paula passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 70. 

Paula grew up in Broken Arrow and was an excellent student at Broken Arrow High School. Paula’s father was the Chief of Police in Broken Arrow and said while she was growing up the town had a kind of Mayberry feeling. Everyone knew everyone else and people took care of one another. Paula was dedicated to her beloved church family, the Assembly of God, which she attended most of her life. 

Paula married Robert Freeman III and their union was blessed with three sons. Paula was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother. She adored her family and loved spending time with them. Paula was a fun loving person and often the life of the party. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking, traveling and everything musical. She loved animals and had many pets. She loved reading, was fascinated with science and with the bible and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Paula was a life-long learner and continued her education by taking classes and through self study. Paula worked as a secretary in communications and worked with her son flipping houses upon retirement.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Freeman III, and sister Karen Metzger.
