City Mourns Passing of Former City Councilor Tony Petrik

Long-time Broken Arrow resident and former City Councilor Tony Petrik died on Monday, June 19, 2017. He was 68 years old. Petrik served on the Broken Arrow City Council from 1987 to 2003 and was Vice Mayor from 1997 to 2003.
During his time on Council, Petrik helped pass the initial sales tax that built the Northeastern State University campus in Broken Arrow. The Creek Turnpike was also constructed during his time on the Council, and he voted to approve the retail incentive package that brought Bass Pro Shops to Broken Arrow. The Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce presented him with the Committee Chairman of the Year award in 1982.
A funeral service for Petrik has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow.
