Kenneth and I are Brown Water sailors. We both were in the same River Division, 521, our base was Mobile Base 1 Tan My, Vietnam. I was there June 1967 to Jan. 1969. Kenneth came aborad RIV DIV 521 in 1969. I did not see him. He could have been my replacement. Kenneth was on patrol close to the DMZ., I talked to the patrol officer who was on the lead boat, Kenneth was maning the foward guns on the cover boat when the boat hit a mine.The captain said that Kenneth was one of the best Combat Craft Crewman in the Division. I touched his name on the Wall and my heart ached for him and his family. He gave his life for our freedom, Kenneth represents the best of the class of 1966.
