Patricia (Patty) Buchanan Obituary

Patricia “Patty” Ann Buchanan of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on Friday, July 9, 1948, to George Willfred and Arlene Mae (Perry) Wild in Ardmore, Oklahoma. While still an infant, the family moved to Broken Arrow where Patty grew up. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1966. On Friday, August 8, 1969, Patty married the love of her life, Jimmie Everett Buchanan, in Broken Arrow. She worked as a hairdresser until retiring in 1984. Patty then worked as a dietitian aide at Saint Francis Hospital for many years and a preschool teacher until retiring again.

Patty enjoyed oil painting and painting ceramics. She loved opera and collecting ceramic birds. Patty loved kids and helping. She was a parent sponsor on her daughter’s band trips, worked for DVIS at a shelter, worked as a daycare worker at Arrow Heights Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher at Sunny Side Baptist Church where she was a member from 1980 until 1998. Over the years, Patty also attended Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow and Clearview Baptist Church in Coweta.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents George Willfred and Arlene Mae (Perry) Wild, and husband Jimmie Everett Buchanan. She is lovingly survived by her daughter Lorrenda Molyneux of Broken Arrow; grandchildren Corin Michael Molyneux of Tulsa, Colby Alexander Molyneux of Tulsa and Mackenzie Leigh Erica Ann Molyneux of Broken Arrow; brothers Bill Wild and his wife, Jeanie, of Broken Arrow, Dick Wild and his wife, Louise, of Kansas, Jim Wild and his wife, Ginger, of Vinita, and Chuck Wild and his wife, Kathy, of Louisiana; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews; and many others over a lifetime of acquaintances and friends.

Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Garrett Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Garrett Funeral Home Broken Arrow. Burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
