Stanley Arnold died on Februrary 9th, 1994 in Tulsa of a brain aneurism. He was buried in Park Grove Cemetary in Broken Arrow. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Stanley and I always said we were "kissing Cousins", even though we never kissed. Maybe he kissed Sherry, but I doubt it. We were so innocent and happy back then. She and I talk constantly about our friendship with Stanley. He was a best friend to us and he has been deeply missed.
He is hanging out with Ricky right now...watching all of this reunion stuff. I'm certain they are enjoying it right along with us. They were so loved by Sherry and I.
I know may sound a little crazy but the day Stanley was buried, I woke up early in the morning and I instantly thought about him. I was living in Eureka Springs, Ar. at the time. I couldn't get him off my mind. He used to attend some of our family reunions down on the Illinois River (big,big party)and I got to see him on those occasions. Anyway,it seemed really strange to me that I couldn't get him off my mind. My brother Gary called me later that morning and told me about Stanley. My heart was broken. He was a good friend and I have the greatest memories of him,Ricky,Melinda and I.
I later got to meet his daughter and son. Paula was attending my daughters church and I was visiting. I had kept a poem that someone wrote in the Broken Arrow Ledger about Stanley's brother John who was killed in a car accident when we were in the ninth grade. I gave it to Paula so the kids could have it. It will be strang not to see him and Ricky at the re-union.
