Michael Frank Simmons, 63, died at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Michael Frank Simmons was born on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 1950, in Broken Arrow, the son of Elmer “Mike” Lewis Simmons and Dorothy (Cochran) Simmons. Graveside Services for Michael “Mike” Frank Simmons will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Garden of Devotion at Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Mike was a 1969 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. He attended Northeastern University in Tahlequah. He was a Fire Fighter for the city of Broken Arrow. He was married to the former Miss. Patti S. Srader on April 25, 1980 in Miami, Oklahoma. Mike enjoyed OU Football, NASCAR, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Simmons of the Owasso home, a son, Chris Simmons and Brittani Henry of Owasso, a daughter, Brooke Simmons of Broken Arrow; Grandson, Jax Stillwell of Broken Arrow; sisters, Jane and husband Frank Black, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Sue Ann and husband John Scace, of Talala, nieces and nephews, Ashley, Jonathan, Aly, Steve, Regina, Diana and Amy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Louise and Martha Lee, and a brother Vic.
