HOGAN - Kenneth Walton, 55, died peacefully in his sleep August 26, 2008, at his home in Broken Arrow. He was born September 7, 1952, to Geneva and Walton Hogan in Tulsa, OK. He graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1970 and attended the University of Tulsa. At the age of 16, Ken met the love of his life, Johnnie White, whom he married on February 17, 1970. At age 17, he began a lifelong career in the metals industry sweeping floors in the warehouse of Alloy Service Center, rising to an inside sales position and ultimately co-founding his own hugely successful business alongside his wife. It was a career and business that he pursued with great passion and vigor. Ken currently served as the Republican chairperson for his district where he fought valiantly against the status quo of his party in a yet unresolved bid to secure insurance mandates for autistic children in Oklahoma. He was also an avid student of history and science, which culminated in the writing and publication of his science fiction novel Veritas. Ken was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Patricia Dalton; and his son, Kenneth Walton, Jr. He is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Johnnie; his son, Boomer Hogan and wife Rachel, Broken Arrow, OK; his daughter, Merica Hogan and husband Bradley Gruen, Broken Arrow, OK; his 4-year-old grandson, Cale Gruen; his sisters, Lana Dark and Trellis Basham; and several nieces and nephews. Ken was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather, who worked tirelessly to take care of his family and took every opportunity to tell them he loved them.
