I have always worked in health care. I went to work at Girling Health Care shortly after graduating and worked many positions with them. I was the Administrator at the end of my employment there. I didn't like all of the travel and being away from the family so much. I decided to go to work for Ford Glass Plant. Talk about culture shock! I lost my husband, Donnie, during that time and never returned to work at Ford. Instead I pursued my nursing license. I have worked as a Registered Nurse in ICU, Outpatient, PACU and ER. I really enjoy working in direct patient care. Unfortunately, I no longer do direct patient care after my diagnosis of Stage IV Colorectal Cancer with innumerable mets to my liver. I was diagnosed 1/5/18. They tell me there is no cure for me but I pray every day for a miracle! I tragically lost my oldest son, Eric, on 8/28/18. They say He will never give you more than you can handle but this one was tough. I was blessed with the birth of his baby and my first grandchild on 11/21/18. She brings me sooooo much joy and gives me a huge reason to FIGHT HARD! My younger son, Dylan, is now expecting the birth of a son on 2/20/2020! I am blessed beyond measure! Hug your loved ones tight each and every day - let them know how much you love them! Things can change in the blink of an eye!
