I married after high school and moved to Las vegas for two years for my husband's job. We did not want to raise the kids there so we moved back to his hometown, Sallisaw. I went to nursing scool and have been working as a nurse since. I worked ob/gyn for about nine years and loved it. I took a break and stayed home after my daughter was born for a little less than a year. I have been working in general surgery in Ft. Smith, Ar for about five years now. It's just about thirty minutes from Sallisaw. It's the closest bigger town.
We have a son about to graduate from high school himself. He was accepted to OU but has decided to attend UAFS and stay closer to home. He received an academic as well as a band scholarship. He is first chair trumpet player for Sallisaw High School concert and jazz band, and marches as well. We couldn't be any prouder of him.
Our other son is 16 and full of life. Both boys have done the sports thing but Sonny is more into art and drama. He recently won second place in an art contest and had the lead in the school play.
Then there's our little angel we thought we'd never have because of no boys in the family history! She's 8 and is just a joy. As her teacher says, "Curls and bows and girly clothes playing football outside with the boys!" She plays every sport there is. Her big thing is softball. She is the first baseman for 'Havoc'. We eat, sleep, and breathe softball.
So that's my life in a nutshell. BUSY.
