It was so sad and shocking. I remember meeting her first time when she was recovering from major back surgery. She was a amazing person. Her funeral service was really tough to attend
Tragic, horrible story...remember Megs smile...never knew the details. Bringing to mind others who suffered violent deaths..Sean O'Connel and a grade below us Dave Cassara. Living in the USA
Here is the link from the book "Evil Eyes" detailing the events surrounding Meg's homicide by the serial killer Coral Eugene Watts. He did not receive the death penalty and was almost released on 'good behavior' until Michigan stepped up to the plate and prosecuted him and handed down two life sentences. He died in prison from prostate cancer in 2007. Not much justice for the man who was suspected of killing up to 80 women.
Scoliosis. I remember kids bringing her Box from class to class so she could listen.. I did not share any of her classes as she was a very smart student.
I remember carrying that box to different classes so Meg could listen in. i used to stop by her house for an occasional visit after school. She was always a delightful and caring soul.
The first time I met her she was rolled into our classroom she was prone laying down . It must been a tough procedure and difficult recovery. One of the gems of our generation who left way too soon
I remember Meg as not only brilliant, but super kind. Even though we "travelled" in mostly different circles, we were friends. (Primarily in early HS, through girl scouts and Church). I did hear of how she died, and it's horrible to think of her pain...❤
I sat in front of Meg Everson in 7th grade History, Mrs. Hatchers class. We were in the back corner and the class was studying American History. This was before the scoliosis and talking boxes. Big Smile, Kindness, Intelligence and more than a little Hermione Grainger. Anyone could talk to her. Megs brother Charlie was special as well and a friend of mine also. It's impossible to change history, no magic wand. BUT I cannot imagine anything better to use a wish on than getting her home safely that night. It was a loss for all of us that will never fully heal.

I am not sure if this is appropriate but how many of our classmates have passed away?

Meg was a remarkably generous and kind person. The way she went was terrible. What a tragedy.
