Eddie passed away May 27, 1982 at the age of 21 due to an accident at the Ozark-Mahoning Salt Plant in Loop TX and was survived by: parents, Glen & Jenelle Burns, Brownfield; sister, Jan (Burns) Decker, Plainview; brother, Shawn Burns, Brownfield; two nieces - Brooke Decker and Michelle Burns; one nephew, Tyler Decker and one great-niece, Camryn Decker.

Eddie was the most beautiful person - inside and out - that I've ever known. He had the sweetest spirit. He loved to laugh and make others laugh and always had a smile for everyone. He loved his family very much and wanted so much to graduate from college!! He had one more year to go at Texas Tech. He died one month before his 22nd birthday. A precious life taken away too soon. I miss him more than ever. It's a comfort to know that heaven is even more beautiful because of his presence there.
