Education: Utah State University (1968); University of Pennsylvania (M.Ed. Reading,1971); University of Cape Town, South Africa (M.Ed Learning Disabilities, 1977)
Employment: I taught reading at the elementary, middle school, and college levels, and after homeschooling my three children up until high school, I founded and directed a reading/learning disabilities clinic in Richmond, Indiana for twelve years. Subsequently, I was in private practice as an educational therapist in Okinawa, Japan where my husband was a counselor for the Air Force. We retired from there in July 2014, and are now living in Indianapolis, Indiana so we can help our daughter and son-in-law with childcare while they work and go to school. In a year or so I plan to continue teaching students and training teachers part time in Spain with my daughter, in India with a colleague, and in the U.S. I'm also looking forward to spending more time with my seven grandchildren (eight by June) and to becoming more fluent in Spanish.
Interests: reading, environmental and progressive causes, hiking and camping, traveling, yoga and Zumba, and (previously) rescuing cats in Okinawa
