Nancy Biggs (Newstrom)

August 12, 1946 - April 4, 2022

Nancy Jo Newstrom

Nancy Newstrom passed away on April 4, 2022 at the age of 75. She was born in Bremerton, Washington on August 12, 1946 to Alfred and Betty (Rusher) Biggs.
A Washington native, growing up in the area of Seattle called Three Tree Point along the coast line where the water waves and family beach gatherings took place, Nancy had a love for the sound of waves and the calming effects of mother nature.
She moved to Bellingham in 1975 to raise her two young daughters, where she remained even after her girls were grown and moved away, calling Bellingham home until her dying day.
She created a career for herself in accounting through the businesses of Allsop, Inc., Veco and in her later years American Alpine Institute and the Friends of the Library. As an avid reader and a 'wanna be' traveler she lived vicariously through the guides at AAI as she processed their guide books while doing the daily accounting of funds for the business. Numbers rang through to her daily life as a retiree in her early 70's becoming a master at the 16 grid suduko puzzle and continuing her accounting savvy as personal accountant for her daughter's business. She loved the challenge of numbers.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; Alfred and Betty Biggs and her three siblings; Steve Biggs, Claudia Biggs and Alissa McFadden. She is survived by her daughters Katie Newstrom and Amy (David) Darst.
Nancy saw the good in every person she met, was more kind than anything else towards others and had an intelligence that expanded beyond the norm. Nancy's greatest accomplishment was her amazing role as a mother, providing a voice of reason when needed, unconditional love continuously and living by example showing how to face life challenges and always push forward. Nancy held close a handful of lifelong friends that were her chosen family, including her 4-legged companion, Abbie, a 15lb, 10year old calico kitty.

Nancy was always the life of the 'party' no matter where or what.....Cheerful, bubbly, and an infectious upbeat personality.

May her memory bring smiles to the faces of her family throughout their lives.
