Trish Fleming

July 8,1946  -  May 2, 2021

Patricia "Trish" Ann Fleming, of Arlington, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2021, at the age of 74.

Trish was born on July 8, 1946, to Allen and Gail Fleming in Seattle, Washington, where she was raised with her two brothers and two sisters, Allen, Paul, Mary and Joan. After graduating from Highline High School, Burien, in 1964, she went on to study Engineering Drafting at Highline Community College in Des Moines.

After completing courses and certification, she pursued her first job as an Engineering Drafter for Boeing in Renton, Washington, advancing to Engineering Technician for what would become a 30-year career in Aerospace.

In 1971, she met John Huemmer, and they wed in 1973. In 1977, after the birth of their first child, she left Boeing and the family moved from Seattle to Mount Vernon to raise their three children, Andrew, Otis and Sadie. She later went on to run an at-home daycare due to her popularity in the neighborhood.

In 1989, she returned to her profession at Boeing where she remained diligent not only in her work but as a dedicated mother, seeing her kids to sporting events, 4-H meetings and horse shows, in conjunction with her career and commute to Everett.

In the late 1990's, Trish moved into Cockpit Avionics to pursue a project and opportunity for domestic and international business travel to Europe, and she enjoyed the challenge and new experiences. She also enjoyed personal travel with friends to Australia and Costa Rica, and she ran a marathon in Kona, Hawaii.

Trish was married to John for 26 years and they remained friends after parting ways in 1999.

In 2001, she bought a country home with stables and 2 acres of pasture on the outskirts of Arlington so she could pursue her desire to own horses. In addition to her love for horses and trail riding, she became a reputable dog breeder establishing the business, Epicyon Rottweilers, an AKC registered bloodline of responsibly bred Rottweilers. Her dogs and new litters brought joy to her life, and to the lives of the many people who purchased her purebred puppies over the years.

Throughout her life and following retirement from Boeing in 2014, Trish was passionate about spending time with her children and grandchildren, family, friends and animals, and caring for her sister, Joan. She was generous to people and animals in need and opened her home to many. She loved travel, hiking, skiing, camping, boating, cooking and dining out, gardening, puzzles, music and adventure. She was spiritual and practiced Reiki, aligning her empathic nature with the art of healing. She had many passions in life, but most enjoyed sharing her home and horses with family and friends.

Trish was loved and admired for her remarkably ageless nature, sense of humor and signature laugh, her patience and compassion for others, intellect, creativity, and her loving and generous way. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched. A private memorial service honoring her life will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Trish was predeceased by her father Allen Fleming, her sister Mary Fleming, and her mother Gail Fleming. She is survived by her sons Andy and Otis Huemmer, daughter Sadie Huemmer, grandchildren Isaac, Annabell and Gage Huemmer, brothers Paul and Allen Fleming, sister Joan Fleming, nieces Ashley, Sydney and Leslie, and cousins Richard, Donna and Mike.
