I am so very sad to hear about Mary Lou's passing. Mary Lou and I go back to gradeschool, where we were buddies and a sort of "gang of 4" tomboys in the 4th grade ( along with Dale Porter and Barbara Bartholomew), eschewing the frilly and feminine for the more rough and tumble of "boy's sports", like climbing trees and playing kickball and soccum. I have always carried Mary Lou in my heart as an important part of my girlhood, being both a friend and a compass for me. Mary Lou always knew where true north was, and lived her life with that confidence. I admired how centered and grounded she was, even in those junior high and high school years, when many of us were scrambling to figure out where we fit in. God bless you, Mary Lou. I am grateful for what you taught me. I will never forget you.
