According to Facebook posts, Marilyn passed away recently after a long battle with leukemia. She was an inspriation to many with her positve attitude through her many challenges.
Her son, Chad, has made arrangements for a Celebration of Life event at Normandy Park Cove on Sunday, September 16 at 12 PM - 6 PM. People interested should go on her Facebook page and select that they are interested or going and it will take them to an instruction site asking them to bring something for a potluck and tell them how many people will be attending.

Oh my gosh...Another of our wonderful classmates has past. As I sit heree with tears running down my face, thinking of this wonderful lady...she was so determined to beat this cancer. My own sister (Jan Swier) passed away two years ago with exactly the same thing.. Reading her facebook page and seeing her with many many friends going places, dinners, etc., what an amazing person. She too will be missed as she was loved and loved life. I still remember her as a cheer leader...She is probably cheering in Heaven with her pom poms and now at peace. We love you Marilyn....You meant a lot to so many.
Everyone in our class may want to think about reaching out to one another....I know Pam Hagan reached out to someone this week and was greatly needed. Remember - Tomorrow is not a given...tell those around you and others you love them, before it is too late.

I have known Marilyn since the fourth grade at Sunnydale Grade School. We road the same bus to Sunset JH. She was always a bright ray of sunshine.I am saddened by her death.

Marilyn had a strength that was not surpassed by many. She fought a battle of Leukemia for many years and always with a positive attitude. She battled through the death of two of her children. She managed to make a trip on her bucket list to England just weeks before her passing. She loved to travel and spend time with her many friends. She will be missed by many.

I was very sorry and saddened to hear of Marilyn's passing.
Although we were not close friends, I did walk by her house many times on 160th coming down the street from my house to various places in and around Burien. And apparently, as Marty said, we must have ridden together on the bus to Sunset Jr High on the times I didn't take my bike to school.
And even though I did not attend the 50th Reunion, I have been following things on this site and have always been impressed by Marilyn's upbeat attitude toward everybody she commented about.
It was shocking today to hear of her passing. I pray for comfort for her surviving family members.

Such wonderful memories I have of Marilyn; starting at Sunnydale Elementary,our Blue Bird troupe and Camp Fire girls at her house, through Sunset Jr. and Highline. I can now admit I was always a bit jealous of her beautiful long, flowing
hair. Last time with Marilyn was the 40th reunion; I regret I did not keep up beyond that time. Heaven has gained a beautiful Angel. Linda (Venohr) Busack
