When I heard of Christie's passing in January of 2007, I was in shock and deeply saddened. Then I did some research on her and found that she had been very happy and spent her time helping people at the local hospital feel better through the services she provided out of her gift shop. Let it be said that we did something to make someone else have a better life before we die.
I was saddened to hear of Christie's death. During our 3 years of productions in Harmony Class she truly was an inspiration and lots of fun. I most fondly remember that she bet $10 on me to win a Krispy Creme doughnut eating contest. When I won she was gracious enough to take me to Mickey D's for lunch.
I've wondered about Christie off and on since graduation. I thought she'd be in New York working in some artistic / musical endeavor. I'm sorry to hear she's gone - I'm sorry to hear about all of our classmates who've passed.
Christie's name was the first one posted in memory. I was in total shock. She was such a dynamic personality with a beautiful voice. I remember her dating a guy named David at SG. He was so much taller than she was, she'd stand on her books, in the middle of the auditorium, so she could talk to him face to face. What a hoot!
Living away from Burlington you hear things.."later" and I was shocked to hear of her passing. I did find out she was married to a great guy. In love, and happy the way she should have been. Her accident was tragic. The world lost a good soul that day. Leanne, the David guy was David Pardue. But who will ever forget the Christie, Jon Robertson relationship?? lol! Glued together in the hallway after every class. She had style, she had class, she was an all around good person. I knew Christie from elementary school all the way through high school. Ill miss her. She may have passed, but she will never be gone as long as she lives in out hearts. Christie was blessed to have great parents, who chose her, and showered her with love. We were all blessed to have known her.
OMG, I had no idea that Christie and Wayne had died. I sure hate to hear that. They were very good classmates and will be missed dearly. What happened to them?
I do remember her and Jon Roberts. I also remember when we were at Sellars Gunn together and she played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and her voice was like an angel. She will be missed.
Well, it has taken me since the start of this website to be able to post anything about Christie. I had the pleasure of knowing Christie in many different situations. Between rolling her house night after night with another one of my friends, to learning to apply Mary Kay Oatmeal foundation at her house in the 8th grade, to cruising with her in 9th and 10th grade along with a few Williams guys, after graduation hanging out with her when she was in town between grateful dead concerts, to rekindling our friendship for a short period when she moved back home the last time.
She was one talented girl, with many, many sides. Most of which could bless all she came in contact with. She was committed to whatever was on her heart at the time. Always searching to connect with people and nature. If you were her friend, she definitely touched your heart. Every time I talk about her, hear her name or see her picture, I feel like something is missing in mine. Rest in peace Christie! I love you!
