I just added 75 or so photos from the 20 year reunion to my album I started with the 10 year reunion. I'll bring it to the reunion for viewing.

So sad about our departed classmates. I just learned about Rene Fowler. She was a sweet person. I remember how competetive she was on the basketball court. She was always pleasant and she had a great smile. It's really sad. I sure am glad I knew her.

Lorie Bridgers death shocks me. I went to BDS with Lorie and she was a great person. Very smart. I remember how much Lorie's mom loved her. She was such a pretty girl, too. Its so sad.

Steve Mooneyham was a quiet, super nice fellow. The way he died was tragic.

Shelton Bethel has passed away, yet it is not noted on our site. I have no info on to how or when he passed.

Buzzy Stutts was a really nice guy with a lot of artistic talent. He was really into our stage productions. I remember him having super perfect teeth.

Helen Warren was super, super nice and we all remember what a void we felt when she was killed. She loved sports and was always smiling.

I didn't know Randy Justice that well. I do remember him being rather quiet and pleasant.

Life is fragile.

I'm glad this reunion thing has been happening. I have thought of more people I haven't thought of and have been e-mailing and talking on the phone and visitng in person with so many friends. You know, a lot of times when you don't see someone for a long time, its simply because our lives at home take up so much time.

I read once, where the average person knows about 500 people. And each of those people know 500 and so on.
There are only so many people you can keep in constant contact with because of the volume factor alone.

I often think about people from elementary school or people from jobs or vacations and wonder what they are doing and wonder if they ever think about me. I'm sure they do. But they don't know i've thought about them and I don't know if they've thought about me, but we both have. And thats how life is sometimes. Two people thinking about one and other and each oblivious to it. Then a plate breaks in the kitchen or the dog barks or the doorbell rings and we snap out of daydreaming and continue taking care of our busy lives. It doesn't mean that we don't care about people we seldom see, its just the way it is.

This has been a Doogie Houser production.

Susan, bring plenty of cash for the cash bar!

Nice reflections Bob. I didn't know we had lost that many classmates.

Does anyone know the stories behind their deaths?

Look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Nicely worded, Bob.

I do know that Steve Mooneyham was killed while working on his truck. He was under it and it fell on him :( What a super nice guy.

Didn't know Steve died like that! That is so tragic! Steve was a nice guy.

I might be wrong but I had heard Randy Justice got shot, I believe with a shotgun. Don't know if that is true or the circumstances around that but for some reason that rings a bell.

I hope others will respond about the others who have died.

I thought Amy was his sister, but maybe she was a cousin...she was really nice too. Where is Amy?

I love what you wrote Bob, and I enjoyed listening to the songs as well. Brought back a lot of fond memories. So sad to have lost some classmates.
I was surprised to see Johnny's name, if anyone knows what happened to him, please let us know.

Bob,
What a beautiful way to remember those that we have lost, for whatever reason, we remember them fondly and with sadness in our hearts! Thank you for putting your thoughts and words for everyone to read! Can't wait to see those that are able to attend the reunion. We will miss those that have left us as well as those who can not attend. I wish the best to everyone! Hope to see you all soon!

Memory- No names.....
Except...Mr. Faust the drafting teacher being the "smokers monitor" how crazy is that?...lol...
Guys would smoke cigarettes with Mr. Foust....LOL..and there would be like 10 people there sometimes...
We had a high school with a teacher that would supervise student smoking!!! Hilarious!!! How times have changed...

I didn't smoke cigarettes so I didn't hang out at that scene, I only observed it from afar. However,Mr. Foust taught me drafting. He was great. He was really friendly and I thought he was a great teacher.
I learned so much in his class. I still use those skills today in my work. He used to wear denim collared shirts with his sleves rolled up a little and he was real persnickity about instilling in us to use the brush to wipe eraser remnants off the paper. Anyone remember?

I love Bob.

Well, thank you Chauncey, I wish my first wife could have thought of that!... I just checked out the Bulldog class of 1974's reunion site...they were a lot of the older brothers and sisters we had. They are blogging back and forth heavily. Their reunion is the 15th of August. Well, I'm going to put up another song. But first, how about a memory...Football game, 3rd quarter, Bulldogs up 35-2 against Graham...(Red Devils?) then..the P.A. announcer..."Zacks hotdogs are now 50 cents." Once or twice, Bruce Foster gave me a dollar and I bought him two hotdogs for after the game!

That's funny Bob! I'm surprised Bruce didn't eat them during the game. Good guy!

I think I remember huddling up the team during a game and yelling over at Jimmy Vanderford, who was dragging the chains for that game. Seems l remember asking him what was he doing after the game.

We used to talk about all kinds of things in the huddle. Mostly Milligan and Latham kept it pretty funny.

Brad Herring! I just re-read your profile...very enlighting! The part about your brother is really interesting... Bobby Wilson's mom and sister did the same thing...married brothers! Blaine Jeffrey's...definately a sharpe knife in the drawer.

I hope you didn't stay at the King George Motel in Myrtle. They are still looking for the 30.00 for a broken window lol...

Brad Herring

Yea, I don't know how many states that is legal in but I do know I live in one of them!

lol @ the window at King George Hotel! No telling on this end! $30 bucks sure sounds cheap these days. I'll take 4!

One Saturday evening in 1978 or '79, Anwar Nicola and I were to go and pick up our party friends, Teri Thorton and Ann Flynn. Anwar was driving his "mean green dragon machine" and of course he was at least an hour late picking me up. When we got to Ann Flynn's house, we were met by these two young seventh graders, Ann's Sister Sharon and Sharon's friend Monica Davis. They were just sitting on the front steps and laughed and told us that Ann and Teri left because we were late.

As Anwar and I began to get back in his car, the girls began asking us to take them for a ride around the block.
"Please, it's Saturday night" said Sharon. "Just around the block" pleaded Monica.

I said, "What do you think Anwar?"
He said, "I don't think so."
Then I said. "Com'on, Anwar, lets just give them a ride around the block."
The girls jumped in the back seat enthusiastically.
They were bouncing up and down on the seats and having a great time. I was too. We went around the block and then dropped the girls off at Ann's house.

Years later, Anwar married that little seventh grader Monica. You never know.

Hey guys...I just spoke to Johnny Longest tonight. Yes, he is still alive and doing well. He lives in Florida but was at his mother's house visiting for the week. He was unaware about the reunion and may try to make it back up here for the end of the month. Not quite sure who posted he had passed away, but it is NOT true. I have his phone number and email if anyone wants the info. He's gonna try and create a profile for the Website. See all of you soon!

Robin, thats GREAT news! I hope Johnny can make it to the reunion. Good job Robin-
Johnny Longest IS a really cool guy. I remember a lot, I mean A LOT of girls liked him. He drove a Camero I believe and always wore white t-shirts and blue jeans and smoked marlboros and kept them in his shirt sleeve.

Wow! Great news about Johnny Longest.
Thank you, Robin, for your investigating! It paid off in a nice way!
I hope his Mom is doing well...she was always so sweet!
