Brian H. Baldwin
July 30, 1961 - October 27, 2014
Raleigh
Brian Baldwin died of a heart attack at his home on Monday evening. Brian is survived by his wife of 26 years, Catherine, and their daughter Kate. He was born in Burlington on July 30, 1961 to Patty and GH Baldwin. He graduated from Williams High School in Burlington and NC State with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Jobs and promotions took him from North Carolina to Atlanta and back, landing him in Raleigh in 2000. His current interests were his Monday Night Bible Study (MMNBS) and his work at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Sanford, NC. Brian was an avid historian who loved to laugh and, like many classic engineers, had numerous unfinished projects around the home. He was happiest watching Catherine, his wife, compete in many triathlons and was overjoyed at the recent enrollment of his daughter Katie at his alma mater, NCSU. One of his favorite household tasks was throwing the ball for Maximus, their black lab and his faithful companion. Brian's premature death came as a surprise to those who knew his love for fitness, exercise and outdoor activities.
He is survived by and stayed close to his parents, the Baldwin and Cole families, and to his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to either Providence Baptist Church 220 Campaign, 6339 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612 or the Oak Park Pool at the donate button under the Memberships tab at http://www.oakparkpool.com/membership.html. Brian's casual disposition and love of laughter will be celebrated at a memorial service in the amphitheatre at Providence Baptist Church at 1 pm on Saturday, November 1 with a reception to follow. Hawaiian shirts and flip-flops are encouraged. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/newsobserver/obituary.aspx?n=brian-baldwin&pid=172992719&fhid=30833#sthash.PszLTUEI.dpuf

I remember Brian in high school wearing flip flops and Hawaiian Shirts pretty much year round. Always so friendly , jovial and a very we'll liked classmate. From reading his obituary he lived life pretty much the same way throughout. Sorry to hear he has passed at such a young age. His family is in my prayers.

I grew up with Brian in church, as well as school, and remember him as a very pleasant, friendly young man who was a friend to all who knew him. I'm so sad for his wife, daughter, and parents. May God comfort his family and give them peace. I'm thankful that Brian knew the Lord and is with Him. John 11:25
