Mr. Gary Lee Bruce

BURLINGTON - Mr. Gary Lee Bruce, 46, of 2250 Wilkins St., died July 23, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mrs. Hilda Curry Bruce, who survives, and the late Mr. Samuel Bruce Jr. He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle United Holy Church and the Boys Choir. He was a graduate of Walter B. Williams High School. He was a former employee of Brown-Wooten and worked for Acucote Inc. for 14 years.

Survivors other than his mother of Burlington include one daughter, Taylor Danille Bruce of Burlington; a fiancée, Ms. Tonja Evans; two godchildren, Chirmere Murphy and Torey Murphy, both of Burlington; four uncles, Ronnie Bruce (Clara) of Snow Camp, Clarence Bruce (Nancy) of Burlington, James Curry of Bronx, N.Y., and Anthony Curry (Gloria) of Sanford, Fla.; five great-aunts, Edwin Blaine of Wilson, N.C., Tinsey Crawley of South Boston, Va., Mary Chesley of Baltimore, Md., Helen Terry of Bronx, N.Y., and Onie Curry of Kennesaw, Ga.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Gospel Tabernacle United Holy Church of Burlington. Bishop Gregory K. Hargrave will officiate. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
