Kim Regis Cherry Kim Regis Cherry, 59, of East Butler died suddenly of natural causes on Monday. He was born in Butler on Dec. 29, 1952, the son of Samuel Cherry and Gertrude Hempfling Cherry. He was a graduate of Butler High School and a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler. He was an avid volleyball player and he enjoyed classic cars, especially Jeeps. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Hockenberry Cherry, who he married June 20, 1981; one son, Derrik Cherry and his wife, Liesel, of Cleveland, Ohio; one daughter, Natalie Cherry at home; his mother of Butler; three brothers, Robert Mortimer and his wife, Beverly, of Mt. Chestnut, Timothy Cherry of West Sunbury and Jeffrey Cherry of Mississippi; and two sisters, Deborah Cherry of Butler and Mrs. Jerry (Susan) Holden of New York. He also is survived by two grandchildren, Tirzah and Sapphirah Cherry. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Samuel A. Cherry and James Mortimer.
