Edward P. Diamond

Zanesville - Edward P. Diamond, 71, of Zanesville, died peacefully at 1:00pm on May 7, 2018 at Morrison House. He was born on August 22, 1946 to the late Mary A. Raabe Diamond and Clarence P. (Bud) Diamond of Butler, PA. Ed graduated from Butler High School in 1964 and Grove City College with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1968. He began his career with Armco Steel (now AK Steel) in 1969 in Butler, PA. In 1970, he was transferred to Zanesville. He worked in the engineering department and later became the General Foreman of Maintenance. He retired after 35 years with the company. Ed enjoyed golf, woodworking, running, auctions, antiquing and most of all, loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (Yost) Diamond; two daughters: Shanon (Dan) Yawkey of Zanesville and Amy (Jody) Kerns of Jacksonville, NC; a son Brian (Mary) Diamond of Zanesville; two granddaughters: Nicole Yawkey and Avery Diamond; one grandson Meyer Diamond; and his sister, Joyce Diamond of Norwalk, CT. He also has numerous cousins, great friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. John's Lutheran Church, 116 N 7th St. Zanesville, Ohio, 43701; The ALS Association, Central & Southern Ohio Chapter, 1170 Old Henderson Rd. #221, Columbus, Ohio 43220; or Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Ave, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8PM, Wednesday, May 9, 2017 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral service will be at 11AM Thursday, May 10, 2018, in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
