Judith "Judy" L. McPherson Kostecky, 77, of Lyndora, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2024.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1946, in Butler, to the late Harold DeRoy McPherson and the late Garnet Mae Flack McPherson.
Judy graduated from Butler High School in 1964. She worked as a registration specialist for Penn Champ in East Butler, retiring in 2005 after 25 years of service. Judy was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the South Butler Volunteer Fire Company and of the Butler Civil War Round Table. She was a co-owner of Moe's Sounds Disc Jockey Service with her husband for 15 years. She enjoyed music, going to flea markets, helping others and being around her family and friends.
Judy is survived by her brother, Dennis (Beverly) McPherson of Zelienople; her sister, Sandra L. Miller of Butler; her special nephew and caregiver, Ronald D. Miller of Lyndora; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George "Moe" S. Kostecky, whom she married on Aug. 27, 1966, and who passed away on Feb. 18, 2011; her sister, Sheila Orand; and her nephew, Donald L. Miller.
KOSTECKY - A visitation for Judith "Judy" L. McPherson Kostecky, who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Hindman officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
