Sharon A. Walsh, 67, passed away Thursday at the VNA Hospice Center. She was born in Butler on Dec. 14, 1946, to Charles and Anna Hoffman Walsh. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active member of the Kittanning Business and Professional Women's Club and was a past state president. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Sharon was a graduate of Butler Senior High School and was an alumni of Clarion State University. She retired from the Armstrong School District in 2006 after 37 years of service. She loved being a teacher and her students were one of her greatest joys in life. Sharon's love of animals, especially her two cats, Gracie and Babe, inspired her to financially support animal groups throughout the United States. Throughout her illness, she was an inspiration to many and always reached out to newly diagnosed cancer patients to help alleviate their fears associated with treatment. She made many new friends and was grateful for the wonderful care given to her by Dr. Cynthia Evans and the staff at the Butler Regional Cancer Center during the past five years as well as the staff at the VNA Hospice Center during her final journey to everlasting peace.

John P. (Rick) Hoffman Sr.
I still remember that day at our bus stop when your friends set about filling all the seats except for the one next to you and as I was last in line... and there began a friendship that I cherish to this day. You were a gifted student and a wonderful teacher with a lust for educating all your students and you loved life. I have many memories that I was privileged to share with you through the years. If our lives are practice preparing for the way we spend eternity then even though you are missed here on earth, I am sure you have found that new home with no pain and are again with old friends and family. Thank-you. Until we meet again. Rick
