Michael J. "Zaccari"

Michael J. Zaccari, Jr. 77, of Hopewell Township passed away unexpectedly, May 18, 2023 due to surgery complications. He is the son of the late Michael and Julia Zaccari.

He is survived by his beloved wife Judy Zaccari of 53 years.

Mike was an avid football player, quarterback at Butler High School and Clarion University. He also played basketball and ran track in his high school and college years.

He was a teacher for 30 years in the Hopewell Area School District for 30 years, assistant football coach and basketball coach, head track coach at Hopewell, and assistant basketball coach at Center High School. (Central Valley) After retirement he enjoyed gardening, anything sports related, and walking and playing with his 3 Shih Tzus.

Mike will be fondly missed by family, friends, and his wonderful neighbors at Kane Orchards. A heartfelt thank you to his special friends Kim & Jan Bove. At his request there will be no services. Everyone that knew Mike has to reflect on the great sportsman that he embodied , his sence of humor, and just his all around professalism while at any of the sports that he excelled in much less many friendships that he leaves behind. A toast in your honor my friend and His peace be with you , Rest in His peace!!

Sad news. Zac and I competed at everything from football and basketball to girl friends. RIP
