Robert Francis Cooney, born May 31, 1970 in Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana; died Apr 25, 1993. Bob and I were good friends during high school and was very sad to hear about his death. I remember one night in particular that we were up all night laughing and talking and went out on a milk crate run to "borrow" milk crates from behind the grocery stores to help build a stage in our living room. He was so young. Robert was only 22 when he and a friend died following an accident at Flathead Lake, Montana. Robert and a friend John Pecukonis, 20, both University of Montana students, died in the early Sunday morning of Apr 25, 1993 after their canoe apparently capsized, throwing them into the frigid waters. They apparently died of hypothermia.
