I attend Montana Tech playing basketball and getting a BIS/CS degree. Then moved to San Francisco and worked at Apple Computer. Where I realized I was not cut out to be in an office 8-10 hours a day. I went back to school getting an Elementary Education Degree, then moved to Rancho Cucamonga in southern CA to teach kindergarten. I had found my passion. Education!
I continued to go to school getting a number of different certificate associated to education. I moved back to the San Francisco bay area after 2 years. I continued to teach kindergarten where I was voted Teacher of the year in my district. I finished my Masters in Teaching Leadership in 2006 at St. Mary's College. I now work at St. Mary's College working with teachers on completing their thesis. I also work with classroom teachers making sure they understand and implement their districts adopted curriculum.
My other passion is still sports. I am still a competive softball player. Playing 11 months a year. It does get cold enough in CA that there is no league or tournaments for a month. I also took up running. I ran my first marathon in Italy. I figured if I was going to run 26.2 miles I was going to get a vaction for my hard work. I continue to run daily and compete in 2 or 3 marathons a year. My favorite is the Nike womens marathon. I am by no means the best or fastest runner ~but~ I compete to beat my personal best.
I have had a few setbacks over the years for serious health issues, but that is life, they have only made me more determined and stronger.
I guess that is a brief history of my life. Last but most important, I have a wonderful man who I have been with since 2000. :)
