CADILLAC - Lee Allen Holmes of Cadillac died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He was 31.

He was born May 12, 1978 in Madison Heights, Mich. During his healthier years, he was a camp counselor/life guard in the summer months, and the rest of the year he took care of children while their parents went to work. When his health began to fade, he dropped his previous summer occupation but continued to care for children.

Lee was called "Big" (or "Little") brother by many but "bro" by only a few. Brother and Uncle Lee will be missed by all those whose lives he has touched. He enjoyed video games and Friendship Activities.

He is survived by his dad, Eric F. Bond of Cadillac; adopted brothers and sisters, Kevin L. Haysmer, Cory Roys, Brandy L. Wyman, Vincent Clark, Jeremy Dunn, Matt Batson, Lee Scroughbrough, Joe Folts, Brian Tompkinson, Josh Taylor and Michael (from Glasgow, Scotland); his aunts and uncles, Judy (Holmes) (Rod) Thurmond, Lorelei J. Bond and Sean M. Bond and their families; and a number of other adopted brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lee Evelyn Holmes Oct. 6, 1991, and grandmother, Irene L. Bond.

Memorial services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cadillac. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church on Sunday.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family.

Arrangements were made through the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
