Jason Belden, age 30, younger brother to Trevor Belden and son of Geoff and Sharon Belden, of California, USA, and mother Maureen Belden of Calgary, lost his heroic battle with cancer in August, 2000. Jay in his final days was more concerned with those around him than himself, and was selfless to the absolute end. He attended Beaverbrook for part of his highschool career. To all who were fortunate enough to spend time with Jason, he was a fantastic guy with effortless style, great wit, a passion for sushi and a heart that had no limits when it came to enriching those close to him. Jason loved fishing, travel, his friends, and it would have delighted him to no end to be an Uncle. Distance did not remotely touch the tight knit family Jason was so proud of. Because his soul is still felt there, his ashes were scattered along the peaceful Bow River where he loved to fish. Rest in peace, Jason.
