Keith was a neighbor and a special friend. We live next to each other for three years. But I had always been friends with him since Peter Pan Kindergarten. I remember Keith and Jeffrey Quinn were in Mrs. Holmes' homeroom and I was in Mrs. Bornhouser. We were good friends so we met with Mr. Peek (the principal)to see if I could switch homerooms. We gave him a couple of names that "we" thought I could swap with. But he said no.

In Junior High Sch (that's what they called it then)I wanted to play the trumpet like Keith. Due to my cleft palate I could never blow the air through the trumpet like I was suppose too. Keith practiced for hours trying to teach me. I could do it if he held my nose closed pinching it together with his fingers. Mrs. Betty Jean Owens still laughs at us.

Keith was a special friend and I still think of him when I visit home, do thigs with the Owens family or think of my school days.
