Most of you who remember me, will think of a shy teenager who talked to very few people. Well, no longer do I exhibit that trait. I talk to anyone and everyone. I revel in randomness and adventure. I love the technology age and anything to do with computers is my hobby, as well as reading.
I graduated from UTC in 1997 with my Bachlor's of Science in Education.
I entered the profession of education in 1997. I was offered a position immediately at the school where I student taught, which was inner city. This became my passion: teaching inner city children. I taught for 10 years, dealling with drug dealers, weapons, sex and someone getting shot outside the school building. All except the last involved students. As with most inner city teachers, I decided to take a bit of a break, and am staying home to start a business with my oldest daughter.
She became a costumer at the age of 14 and bagan taking commisions from the internet this year. Her forte' lies with the musical CATS, as well as any costume involving felines. Actually, present her with anything involving art, and she can do it. Penny Handley (Dobson) would have loved to have had her in her class. She is amazing in that she is totally self taught. Caitlinn graduates this year and plans on eventually during her junior or senior year in collage, going to one of the best art schools in the world, located in Australia - with the help of one of my best friends who lives in Queensland, where the school is located.
In fact, in addition to the internet, she features her skills at Anime,SciFi/Fantasy Conventions. At the last we went to, Dragon Con, in Atlanta, she was offered a job on the spot to work at Six Flags making the costumes and doing the makeup. Unfortunately, because of distance and age, she was unable to take the job. She is also an awesome actor and editor. Her YouTube page is http://www.youtube.com/user/Taintie for a highlight of some of her talents.
My second daughter totally focuses on the information/technology field. She also edits movies and songs. Her page on YouTube is http://www.youtube.com/user/wolfy1434.She recently discovered a gift with animal husbandtry when we bought 2 goats, one pregnant. The 2 older ones and the baby love her and she loves them. They would jump over the moon for her.
Samantha started the first grade this year. She charmes all she meets with her soulful eyes, dimple and totally mischievious grin. Her favorite passions are reading, school, and harrassing her older sisters. Since she was 6 months old, random people keep telling me that she should be in the acting industry. I am not up to that. LOL
In 2003, we delivered a premie who lived for 6 weeks, despite every doctor's insistance that she should not have even survived birth. Her goal seemed to be to come home, and she did. She stayed with us for 3 days at home and died in my arms. She knew she was dearly loved and would be sorely missed.
Our last daughter, born a year later, I call my red headed, blue eyed demon child. She, with the exception of the blue eyes, is me made over. She presides over the household and makes sure everyone does what she believes should be done. The funniest sight is a 16 year old arguing with a 4 year old and the 4 year old winning.
My husband Keith, works as a mechanic in a hosiery mill. His greatest passion are his girls and he is the greatest dad in the world. We have been married for 18 years. He has to be a saint to put up with the chaotic randomness which abounds within our home.
I hope to see many of you at the reunion, barring any unforseen randomness that seems determined to follow us around. Haha.
Our senior year in English, when as a class, we stacked the desks into a pyramid and proceeded to sit in them.
Another day, we topped ourselves by moving the entire classroom outside on the grassy area between the wings.
I think both are in out senior year book.
