One of the finest people to pass through. I was out of the country when Susan died, and I didn't hear about it until much later. Such a sad loss. Such a grace-filled person.
Well said, David. My five favorite memories of Susan:
5. A road trip with Mr. Cooper to ASU for a math & science competition. We heard "Philadelphia Freedom" on the radio 7 or 8 times; by the end of the trip we were mocking it.
4. Young Frankenstein.
3. Going to our senior prom together.
2. The way she treated everyone.
1. During the summer of '74, Robert Fuller's mother passed away. At the conclusion of the funeral service, Robert turned from the gravesite and began walking away. The lonely look on his face was almost unbearable to see. Susan strode right up to Robert and gave him a big bearhug, seeming to absorb some of his pain. It may sound like a simple thing, but to me it was such an act of genuine compassion that I became an even bigger admirer of Susan's.
