On September 12, 2019 Mike passed away unexpectedly but peacefully while taking a nap at his home in Clovis, CA.  He is greatly missed by his wife Eileen and their two sons Tyler and Colin.  

In his career Mike was a successful framing contractor in addition to having other business interests.  As a youth and through high school Mike used the last name of his step-father, Perez.  However, after high school Mike used the last name of his birth father, Cornell, and that is also the last name of Mike's wife and two sons.

In their younger days several of Mike's classmates at Westmont High were in Boy Scout Troop 224 with him, and together they went on many terrific campouts.
