Linda Cashon (Carlile)

Linda, "Linnie" and I started hanging out in kindergarden and have been friends all of these years. I remember spending many sleep overs at her house when I was a kid and loving it. It was always a very interesting, fun time. We used to go to the old cemetary for picnic lunches and of course hide and seek in the casket room at her dads funeral home made for an unusual way to pass time. In those days, we had to create our own entertainment. We were in Girl Scouts together, Troop 129 and Mrs McDonald, Kam's mom, was our leader. I will say ours was sort of a strange match up. Linnie was so smart and I was more on the "let's have fun" side of life. Whatever it was, it worked and has lasted over time. I am going to miss her in my life. Her phone calls, special little cards for no real reason, except she wanted to say hi. She had such a struggle for so many years dealing with RA, but she handled it with determination and strength and grace, always. I never heard her complain about the hand that she was dealt and anyone that met her loved and respected her. She loved her friends and family unconditionally and even though she has gone from this world, she will not be forgotten. I am thankful for all of the time we had together. There is nothing more special than "old friends".  I have many wonderful friends that I have known for years and all of the memories of growing up in Canfiled are very special to me.  Love you Linnie no 1, Linnie no 2.. She was afew months older than me after all!!!

What a beautiful tribute by Linda Cashon.

I too knew Linda; from before kinderharden since we went to the same church.

But I didn't get to go to Girl Scout meetings.

But I can say without reservation: A very nice lady who I'm happy to have know. I knew she had many struggles and accepted her burdens. Oh that we all had her strength of faith and character. Jim Alexander
