So sorry to hear of Janet's passing Eric. Having just laid to rest my brother's wife, also of 51 years, I've seen how devastating a loss is on one's longtime spouse.
I'm so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. I remember Janet as sweet, always with a ready smile, and smart. Reading her obituary, it seems these traits were an essential part of her entire life - from her marriage and motherhood, to the students she taught. She clearly led a values driven life and contributed dearly to those she touched.
May you and your family find comfort in your memories of Janet, Eric. I know you carry her with you in your heart, in your mind, in your soul. Thinking of you.

Although I haven't seen her in untold number of years, my remembrance of her calm and sweet presence during our school years remains vivid, as does the impression of a really special bond that you and she had. Eric, I'm so sorry for your loss. Condolences to your family. I have good memories of you both in highschool. I really remember good times with Janet at Mount Union College. Freshman year we lived only a couple of doors apart in the dorm. We often ate dinner together since we had to be seated in groups of 8. It was a great relief to me that Janet included me. We were not in classes together but I will always remember her kindness and lovely smile.
