In Memory

Terry Draper

Most of us remember returning to school after Christmas break and hearing the news that Terry was killed in an auto accident in West Virginia December 26th. The school became so quiet. He will always be remembered for his huge smile and athletic abilities.

I first met Terry when I was in the 7th grade and we quickly became friends.  His family was tremendous to me.  When we lost Terry, it was one of the most shocking events personally that I had every experienced.   I still think of him from time to time.  He was a wonderful person with a great smile and big heart.  Miss you my man.

I was so blessed to know Terry, albeit for such a short time.

I sat behind Terry our Sophomore year in History and gained a wealth of insight on life, people and respect in the little time I knew him.

I always remember he was so sweet, open, relatable and kind.  And he had the cutest, most sincere smile!  You could not be sad after seeing him!  He made me feel like I had at least one friend when I started at McKinley....and that everything else would be okay.

I will never forget hearing about the accident.  And then returning to school after Christmas break and just dreading History class......having to sit there, for what seemed like an endless amount of days in my life, and stare at that chair.  That chair where my Beloved Friend used to be.

May God continue to watch over you....as you watch over us

Ann
